We’re talking world-class competitors (or so they claim), epic elf antics, and enough Christmas chaos to make Santa reconsider his life choices. Each episode dives deep into the ridiculous strategies, questionable creativity, and borderline-insulting trash talk that fuel this cutthroat event. Think Olympic-level commentary—but for glitter bombs and marshmallow sculptures. Grab your hot cocoa, sit back, and prepare to witness the ultimate battle of wits, crafts, and holiday spirit (or lack thereof).

Ultimate Elf Challenge Rules

Receive Your Elf:
Each participant will get their very own Elf on the Shelf delivered straight to their door. Treat your elf well—or don’t. It’s your call.
Watch the intro video: Hint, you just passed it.—you can’t miss it.
Names: Each team will create two names: a team name and an elf name. Both names must be finalized and debuted by Sunday, November 24th. To submit your names, write them on a piece of paper, take a photo, and send it to the group chat.
Weekly Themes:
Each week will have a unique theme to guide your elf’s antics:
- Week 1: Sports (challenge video airs on Sunday, November 24th)
- Week 2: Culinary Arts (challenge video airs on Sunday, December 1st)
- Week 3: Travel Adventures (challenge video airs on Sunday, December 8th)
- Week 4: Mischief & Pranks (challenge video airs on Sunday, December 15th)
Get into the holiday spirit—it's time for Elf Wars! The games will officially begin on November 24th. Starting that Sunday, visit the designated website (yes, this one!) to watch a weekly video explaining the upcoming challenge. Each Sunday (for 4 weeks or the foreseeable future) you will get a new video that magically pops up on here for your eyeball pleasure and some vague information.
Each week, you will need to submit two entries per challenge showing your elf in action. These entries can be either photos OR videos of your elf doing something fun, festive, or downright mischievous. Submissions are due in the group chat at 8 PM EST / 6 PM MT on Wednesdays and Saturdays. So yes try to submit it ON time (8PM EST/ 6 PM MT) rather than days before or hours later.
- You may include a short explanation or "blurb" about your elf's antics if you wish, but this is optional.
After all submissions are received, voting will begin. Each couple gets two votes—you can vote for the same elf/team or for two different ones. We are not causing dog-house fights or divorce over a minor but well intentioned disagreement…
How to vote: Everyone writes the “elf’s name” or the “elf team’s name” on a piece of paper and send a photo of their written out vote into the chat (you get bonus sprinkles if you use crayons). remember each couple has 2 individual votes that they can use to vote for the same elf/elf team or two different elf/ elf teams.
Week 1 Exception:
Because it’s Thanksgiving, we’re easing you in with only one submission for the first week.

Winning… Weekly and Challenge:

6. Crown the Weekly Winner:

The elf with the most votes wins the weekly round and eternal bragging rights. Remember? We vote each Wednesday and Sunday after everyone has submitted their elves being mischievous.
If a tie occurs, Team Colorado Mitchem will break it by flipping the candy cane.
Grand Prize:
- At the end of all four weeks, the person with the most weekly wins will be crowned the Ultimate Elf Champion and receive a special prize at the holiday gathering in Florida.
Get Creative:
- Use your household’s talents—art, crafting, humor, even pets! The more over-the-top, the better.
- Remember: It’s all about fun (and a little healthy competition).

Week 1 - Sports

It’s game time! This week, your elf will hit the field, court, or rink to show off their athletic skills. Whether they’re dribbling a basketball, attempting gymnastics, or creating their own unique sport, it’s all about action and creativity. Let’s see who can bring home the gold (or at least not trip over the finish line)!

Week 2 - Culinary Arts

Your elf is about to swap their sleigh for a chef’s hat in this week’s culinary chaos! Think the Food Network meets amateur hour, as your elf attempts to whip up “international cuisine”. Sushi? Tacos? Croissants? Sure, let’s be ambitious. Burnt cookies or questionable attempts at pasta? Also fine—culinary art is subjective, after all. As long as it looks vaguely global and edible (emphasis on vaguely), your elf is in the game. Just remember, the fire extinguisher is not a prop.

Week 3 - Travel Adventures

Time to slap a tiny passport on your elf and send them globetrotting—or at least pretend they’ve gone somewhere cool. Paris, the pyramids, the Great Wall of China? All excellent choices. Your backyard sandbox doubling as the Sahara? Honestly, that works too. The goal here is to make it Instagram-worthy, even if your elf is just hanging out on top of a suitcase in your hallway. Bonus points for over-the-top tourist clichés and poorly translated signs. Let’s see your elf become the ultimate jet-setting diva!

Week 4 - Mischief & Pranks

Ah, the grand finale—where your elf can finally embrace their true calling: chaos maker extraordinaire. It’s time to TP the tree, shrink-wrap the toilet, or stage an epic glitter explosion (just don’t blame us when you’re still cleaning it up in July). The goal is simple: mild destruction, maximum hilarity. Think pranks that are funny enough to make everyone laugh but not destructive enough to make your insurance agent cry. Go big, go bold, and let your elf unleash their inner troublemaker.
